Our Mission

For six years we provided scholarships to Montgomery County student athletes who have overcome a large obstacle in their lives yet were still successful in the classroom and on the field/court. See our scholarship recipients page for more information on our past recipients.

Going forward all monies raised will be for the benefit of Walter's children, Olivia and Chase Hardy. Olivia is shown to the left prior to her senior prom. This fall, 2024, she started her freshman year of classes at the University of South Carolina.

Her brother Chase has just started his freshmen year in high school!

What is going on with the Memorial Fund!

From this point going forward the scholarship fund will be geared towards helping Walter's kids with their college tuition. Smaller more personal events will be held to help raise money for Olivia and Chase.

This scholarship fund was established to help students in different ways, primarily by awarding college scholarships to Montgomery County student athletes who have overcome a significant challenge in their life, yet went on to succeed as both a student and athlete at their school. Walter did everything he could to help his student athletes, and we would like to carry on his legacy. Don't let his passing go by without helping as Walter would have.
